2024 Art After School Winter Sessions are live!
Early-Bird Registration ends Monday, December 4th.
Art After School is a multi-week program for grades K-7. Offered during the school year, this program is ideal for families looking for artfully minded after-school care. Students are introduced to a variety of visual and performing arts mediums taught by established practicing artists. This program follows a project-based classroom structure that culminates in a student exhibition and showcase.
Please read our frequently asked questions and review our Art After School Parent Packet before registering to ensure this program is right for your kiddo. Students must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from Kindergarten to register for classes. The Art After School daily schedule is from 3 PM – 6 PM.
- Drop-off and pickup from 3 PM – 3:30 PM (we DO NOT offer additional pickup for students participating in clubs or other after school programs).
- Class time is from 4 PM – 5:30 PM
- Pick-up and homework/free-play time is from 5:30 PM – 6 PM
- Students must be picked up by 6 PM.

Creative Play: K-1st Grade After-School Programming
Join us this Winter for an afterschool program geared towards our youngest learners. Throughout the week students will engage in various art activities in a class environment that’s the perfect blend of play and arts enrichment. Each day has its own creative theme and set of projects with students having extended free play and a dedicated grounding activity before pick-up. Creative Play: Art Adventures |
Instructor: Sara Karlen
In this class, Kindergarten-1st Grade students will explore a variety of art media and techniques. Students will use watercolor paint, oil/chalk pastels, ink, clay, and upcycled materials. Students will create 2D and 3D works, and explore basic bookmaking and puppet-making. Many projects explored are one-day activities, but there will be time for multi-step projects and some larger collaborative works at the end of the session. REGISTER HERE |

Creative Play: Experimental Art |
Instructor: Eva Samuels
Join us for a class that goes beyond traditional art. Experimental Art is artmaking that explores unique and nontraditional artmaking. In this class, students will learn a large variety of techniques to create artwork using fun and interesting tools. Students will continue developing foundational drawing skills and have access to a multitude of art mediums. Creative Play: Painting Explorations |

Explore the world of wet mediums in this K-1st class that’s all about paint! Students will create a variety of both 2D and 3D projects that incorporate watercolor or tempera paint. Creative Play: Dance and Draw! |
Instructor: Olivia Brown
Dance and Draw combines creative movement and drawing exercises for K-1st to explore lines and gestures in 2D and 3D. In the vein of action painting, this class aims to improve students’ fine and gross motor coordination through a variety of creative drawing exercises and movement games. This class will culminate in creating large action drawings through a creative dance “obstacle course”. This class is an opportunity for K-1st students to explore both dance and drawing with a playful, process-oriented approach where the art itself is art-making . REGISTER HERE |

Creative Play: Upcycled Art Making |
Instructor: Molly Thayer
Recycled materials offer infinite art-making possibilities. In this class, students will develop their ability to see with an inspired lens and breathe life into materials to make creatures, mobiles, and recycled textile projects. Students will practice fine motor skills, improvisational sculpture, and various collage techniques to tell stories through color and texture using safe scrap materials. REGISTER HERE |
